Namibia 2022

This was our first trip after the restriction related to COVID became more relaxed and traveling became possible again after two years of lock-down. We still needed a lot of documents and medical testing done before we could cross the border to Namibia, but it was possible.

Jenny, Jerodé and I left Johannesburg just few days before the end of the 2021. We crossed the border on January 1st 2022 and traveled through central and west Namibia visiting all the cool places along the way. The Skeleton Coast is open to tourism only for short time (± 2 months), so we took the advantage of this and decided to explore this deserted land that very harsh and empty. Majority of Namibia is covered by various types of desert and is very empty. One can travel for days and encounter only a few cars along the way. The majority of roads are not paved, but are regularly grades and can be driven on with a standard car. Only few places (like Skeleton coast) require a 4×4 with high suspension.
The northern Namibia is much more densely populated and is greener than the south and central regions. This country is safe for travel and provides ample opportunities for great adventure.
