The map below shows the areas that we explored on this day.

On Day 9, we set out on a scenic drive over the mountains to reach the island’s southern coast. Our journey began with a stop in a small village en route to a peaceful small canyon with a tiny lake, surrounded by striking bottle trees. After a refreshing swim, we took a rugged, uneven road that led us over the mountains and down along a dry riverbed, occasionally dotted with shimmering pools of water.
By late afternoon, we arrived at the south coast, where a small desert stretched out, its landscape marked by rolling dunes. Just beyond the dunes, we found a secluded camp, completely deserted except for us. We stayed in our tents but for dining and relaxing used rustic shacks made from sticks and fabric, cozy inside with carpets and pillows. That evening, Pawel cooked up pancakes for dinner, rounding off a day full of adventure and quiet beauty.
