After a night at the hotel in Hadiboh, we took a drive up the hill to the mountains that form the backdrop for this city. It is not a long road, but it was rough. The temperature dropped significantly by the time we climbed nearly 1000m above sea level. The highest peaks in these mountains reach just above 1500m. It was a quiet and relaxing place.
There are local shepherds living there in small stone houses. We met one who was gathering his goats by calling them by name. The goats appeared to be very happy as they ran towards him. Later that night, when we were staying at our tents, two other shepherds joined us at the fire.
